The happiest place on earth, Disneyland, is about to become an even happier place for fashion lovers as the theme park will soon host its first runway show in 40 years.
New York-based fashion label Opening Ceremony will host their Spring/Summer 2018 on Wednesday, March 7, at the Disneyland resort in Anaheim, California.
The last fashion show at Disneyland took place in 1978 and was entitled “Evolution Of The American Woman”, according to a Disney spokesperson.
Opening Ceremony’s designers Carol Lim and Humberto Leon are known for breaking with traditional fashion norms.
In the past, the pair have showcased their new locations in unlikely locations like as a ballet performance, a pageant and a one-act play.
Last year, they threw a martial arts-themed spectacle in their Los Angeles hometown.
With fashion’s latest obsession with Disney (see Coach’s recent collaboration with Minnie Mouse), we’re anxious to see how Opening Ceremony will put its cool, downtown spin on the mega-brand.
Still, the uber-cool brand’s decision to set up their latest showcase a children’s theme park was unexpected.
More details will be revealed across Opening Ceremony’s social channels, according to a press release.
We’ll update this post with new information as it’s revealed, but in the meantime, we’ll be saving up for the theme park tickets’ newly raised prices.
