Winter is a time when your skin can look duller than usual due to the cold weather and lack of sunshine but that doesn’t mean you can’t fake a gorgeous glow!
Here are five ways to keep your skin looking flawless this winter:
Step 1: Step up your skincare!
At this time of year our skin needs a little more attention due to the colder climes! Our skin can become dehydrated due to a number of factors including central heating and freezing temperatures. Make sure to hydrate and moisturise your skin with a hydrating serum and nourishing cream with SPF to keep dry skin at bay. The right duo will ensure you have the perfect base for make up too! Right now I’m loving Avène’s new Hydrance range.
Step 2: Brighten & Conceal!
If you have dark circles under the eye, use a high quality and lightweight concealer to cover and brighten this area. They will even out the skin tone and ensure your skin stays fresh, dewy and youthful looking. My recently launched Ayu Undereye Concealer is perfect for this time of year. It’s highly pigmented yet lightweight and self-setting so no need for additional powders!
Step 3: Blush & Bronze
There is nothing more beautiful than a pinched blush on the cheeks.. it is my signature look for winter! You can achieve this with the new Ayu Natural Glow Palette which includes a soft light semi-matte bronze to warm the face and a pretty pink sheen blush to add a flush to the apples of the cheeks.
Step 4: Youthful Radiant Skin
Use a cream highlighter to enhance your natural glow! The Ayu Radiant Skin Cream was developed with a soft pink pearl sheen to sit as the last make-up step and make the skin appear smoother and more youthful.
Step 5: Rehydrate
To finish your base and ensure your make up lasts all night, make sure to spritz with a hydrating mist spray. This will set your make up while keeping your skin hydrated. Avène make a handy travel size version which is ideal for your handbag to spritz every now and then when out and about. One of the main reasons our make-up slips and fades is because the skin is dehydrated!
