The Creme de la Creme of Facials – La Mer Spa Review at Adare Manor

We all love a bit of indulgence here at Indulgeme HQ so when an opportunity popped up to visit one of Ireland’s most luxurious venues, Adare Manor we literally could not wait to dive in and try out their unique spa experience. This is no ordinary spa experience this is a La Mer spa experience, one of the world’s leading and most exclusive skincare brands. So exclusive in fact that the La Mer spa at Adare is the only one of its kind in both the UK and Ireland.

The Spa

So full disclosure the night before we enjoyed our spa experience we attended a very memorable Krug champagne dinner in the manor’s cellar so we were most definitely in need of a little detox and some nourishment for our skin.

Before our treatment we explored the pool and relaxation area which is afforded beautiful views over the River Maigue which you can enjoy from your relaxation lounger.

Some of the treatments on offer include aromatherapy massage, mothers to be massage, body polish and envelopment, Margaret Dabbs supreme manicure and a range of La Mer facials.

The Treatment

One of the most popular treatment currently available is the La Mer Miracle Broth facial – a 90 minute escape from reality where you enjoy unique massage techniques to energise and deliver deep hydration, plumping skin from within.

Deeply personalised facials are highlighted with a pure concentration of Miracle Broth, the cell-renewing elixir said to soothe skin that flows through every La Mer product today.

Inspired by the curative power of the sea and natural regenerating properties of plants we were keen to try out what has become one of the La Mer Spa favourites – Viewed by many as the crème de la crème of facials which transforms with bespoke massage techniques and a pure infusion of  Miracle Broth.

The powerful potent derived from sea kelp harvested at certain times of the year helps repair the skin. Michelle, our therapist on the day talked us through the treatment and asked what problem areas we would like her to focus on and what we were hoping to improve so she could tailor the treatment for an optimum outcome.

The treatment started off with the most soothing cleanse of my entire life, followed by a gentle exfoliation using an oil and a lotion combined  and a soft gauze that is placed over the skin to help with the removal of the dead skin cells.

This was followed by a La Mer tonic to help with any excess oil and to start stimulating the skin using a press and release hand technique.

Michelle then warmed up the facial muscles to aid micro circulation before applying the magical miracle broth and La Mer magnets to help relax the body and mind through massage.

The Results

In fairness I was slightly dubious of what kind of results I could expect from a facial like this and also if I has the patience to sit still for 90 minutes, normally something I struggle to do.

That said I found the whole experience to be so therapeutic and relaxing. Everything from the moment you enter the spa is soft music, even softer spoken therapists, low light and dreamy products that are not only decadent indulgence but also an impressive suite of skincare that actually delivers what it says.

My skin felt flawless and hydrated and definitely had a radiant glow that did not exist beforehand. So would I recommend …absolutely yes !! Adare’s tag line is #BeyondEverything and this was beyond any facial I had ever experienced.
