Celebrated Dublin printmaking duo, JANDO, will showcase their multi award-winning work in an exciting new exhibition at the Kilkenny Shop, Nassau Street, Dublin 2, running until May 12th. Combining cinematic perspective and their love of architecture with a pop culture sensibility, JANDO’s work is fresh and modern, with a strong emphasis on kineticism and the playful use of colour. JANDO skilfully blend traditional and modern printmaking disciplines, including screen printing and hand drawn illustrations, to create their distinctive body of work.
Celebrating one year in the Kilkenny Shop, JANDO’s new exhibition features work including their award winning Liberty Moon print as well as their iconic Landmark collection. Four brand new pieces are exclusive to the Kilkenny Shop during the exhibition; Liberty Hall, Trinity College, Poolbeg Chimneys and the Ha’penny Bridge.
JANDO is an acronym for founders, Julie and Owen McLoughlin, whose search for wedding stationery that fit their personalities led them to create their own original pieces. They later launched JANDO in 2015 from their studio in Smithfield, Dublin. Having initially sold their work at Dublin market stalls, JANDO is now stocked internationally in more than 70 stores, including John Lewis.
Julie and Owen commented on the exhibition: “This time last year Kilkenny gave us the opportunity to showcase our work in our very own Pop-Up Shop for one month in their flagship store on Nassau Street. After the success of our Pop Up, Kilkenny offered us a prominent display in their shop. Needless to say, we jumped at the chance. Kilkenny have been champions of irish design & craftsmanship for decades and have given us tremendous support and encouragement over the 12 months. This exhibition is a celebration of our work and our relationship with Kilkenny.
Using the finest archival inks and paper, JANDO’s range of prints are guaranteed to retain their vivid colour and striking aesthetic for a lifetime. Continuing their work towards a more sustainable future, all JANDO frames are sourced locally and are made from 100% ash using wood sourced from sustainably managed forests. All JANDO prints are packaged in clear protective sleeves made from corn starch and are 100% biodegradable.
JANDO’s exhibition is open at the Kilkenny Shop, Nassau Street, Dublin from 9am to 6:30pm daily until Sunday May 12th. All work is available to purchase with prices starting from €50 to €300.
