Look as glowing as you feel on your big day with these 2018 bridal makeup tips.

Flawless Brows

Full flawless brows are a massive trend across the beauty industry, and also play a part when it comes to bridal makeup.

They help to frame the face and finish the makeup look while also giving the eye a ‘lift’.

I like to use a brow cream gel, like Benefit’s Ka-Brow (€26), for a natural soft effect.

I start at the beginning of the brow applying small strokes in the direction of the hairs using a small synthetic angled brush.

Ka Brow

When I reach the arch I apply the product downward and finish by using a concealer to clean up the edges. If needed I set with a very light coat of clear mascara to keep the hairs in place.

Glowing Skin

Who doesn’t want to look as fresh as a daisy from morning until night?

I am personally a big fan of this massive trend that has taken the beauty industry by storm.

Highlighter or illuminators can add that gorgeous sheen to an overall look.

For oily skin I advise using a powder-based illuminator, like MAC Cosmetics Extra Dimension Skinfinish (€31.50), which can be applied along the tops of the cheekbones using a small face brush.

For dry skin I like to use a cream based highlighter, such as MAC Cosmetics Strobe Cream (€34), and apply after foundation using a synthetic brush.

Having your makeup lose its quality over the course of the day is now a thing of the past. Introducing the amazing power of a primer.

All makeup artists and makeup enthusiasts swear by these and it’s definitely a must-have in any bride’s beauty arsenal.

Firstly there’s a face primer, which goes on before foundation. The foundation will then adhere to the skin and stay on all day.

An eyeshadow primer is also a must and this is applied from lip to brow. Not only will your eye makeup stay on till the wee hours but it will also help intensify the colour of your shadow.

Once I finish the look I use a setting spray to give everything that extra hold.

Urban Decay have options in all three categories: Optical Illusion Complexion Primer (€26.10), Eyeshadow Primer Potion (€19.80), and All-Nighter Setting Spray (€21.70).

Luscious Lashes

I love using individual lashes on my brides as these look extremely natural, (perfect for those close up shots on your big day!) and very comfortable to wear.

I also find these definitely complete the makeup and add a lot of definition to the eye without looking over the top.

I’d advise applying individual lashes, such as those from Penneys’ PS Beauty range, with a latex glue and wiggle in between the root of the lashes for a that luscious lashes look.

Glossy Lips

I love using a good lipgloss! I find this definitely helps add more of a dewy glow to a makeup look while also creating a full pout.

I like to opt for peaches and pinks, which are huge this season and really compliment a romantic fresh makeup look, perfect for a bride.

Bobbi Brown Lip Glosses

My favourite glosses from Bobbi Brown (€25), along with those from most other brands, come with applicators making it ideal for a precise application.
