Whatever the weather, and whatever your plans, Emma Willis has you covered. With statement coats, cosy jumpers and her first ever range of comfy-yet-stylish lingerie, her first Autumn/Winter collectionfor Next has just lifted all our spirits here at Indulgeme HQ.
After the success of her debut collection earlier this year and a summer capsule wardrobe, her foray into designing couldn’t be going better. “I feel like with each collection I become more confident and more familiar with the design process,” Emma shares.
The new range is a stunning mixture of classic Autumn/Winter colours and brighter pieces that really stand out. The things that have always been important to Emma are fast becoming signature features of her designs – like timelessness, practicality, and body inclusivity (everything is available in sizes 6-22).
“It’s so important to me that the pieces in my collection are items that I would actually wear and would want to buy myself.”
We delve into our favourites – and you can see more from behind the scenes at London’s magnificent Somerset House with the photoshoot video.
Lingerie to live in…and to die for
Emma acknowledges a common challenge of creating underwear: balancing comfort and style. She is also aware of how her body and her preferences for it have evolved over the years.
“I am not much of a g-string girl…we’ve gone for a full-back comfy pant, because as your butt grows it’s nice to feel supported!” Emma also acknowledged that she’s stopped wearing underwired bras after having children.
The result is subtly feminine bra-and-brief sets in soft yet elegant fabrics, including a gorgeous midnight blue lace, that for Emma meet all the requirements. We love how they’re stylish, comfy and versatile – the bodies will even look great peeping out from a shirt!
Tailoring to turn heads
Emma has always been admired for her sharp trouser suits, so naturally there is plenty of well-cut tailoring in her designs. This season’s suitcomes in a bright satin teal, while Emma has chosen a deep sapphire fabric for a pleated shirt dress – which is perfect for the transitional weather, for work or an evening out.
To protect us from the elements there are four full-length statement coats. Try the striking black-and-white herringbone, or keep the colour in your wardrobe with the dusky pink – all are designed to work well with pretty much everything else in the collection.
Cosying up on colder days (and nights)
Keep warm day and night with snuggly, thick-knit jumpers and the latest nightwear – and yes, these look great together too if you’re starting to feel the cold at home!
We just adore the starry sky print of Emma’s new pyjamas. In the winter, it’s all Emma wants to wear. “I just want to go home, when it’s dark at 5 o’clock, put my pyjamas on, and eat!”
We agree, especially when the pyjamas are this good.
