Holly White’s Kind Beauty: Last Minute Christmas Gifts

If you’re rushing about looking for completely forgotten Kris Kindles, and presents for family and friend’s I definitely have you covered.

Looking to some of my favourite kind beauty brands I’ve selected out four natural skincare and makeup heroes that will cover all angles.

For the friend that loves to travel, to those in your life that are in need of a little TLC, read on for the last minute Christmas gifts that will ease your present panic.

For the Traveller

I met the Irish owner of Flora+Fiona and she told me about her fabulous blends and body oils, but what instantly caught my eye was this Carry-on Travel Oil (€25).

It’s a mix of oils that are historically known to have anti-viral and anti-bacterial properties. Ravintsara, sweet marjoram, niaouli, zesty Lemon and sweet red orange.

Flora+Fiona Carry On Travel Oil

If you roll Carry-on Oil over your pulse points and breathe in deeply at departure and in-flight it gives a natural aromatherapy support.

If you know anyone travelling a lot, this is a really thoughtful gift they can easily slip into their handbag. I also use it before hot yoga so it’s a nice gift if someone is a Bikram fan also!

For the Make Up Lover

I am a huge fan of mineral products. I find them really effective but when it comes to gift giving a little bit of glamour is always necessary.

Gifting beauty is tricky business in relation to shade matching and what not but this bareMinerals You Had Me At A Glow highlight kit (€46) is universal and stunningly packaged.

I have had mine since October and it’s now my go-to highlighter for the top of my cheeks, the inner corner of my eyes, and cupids bow.

The lovely clay shade also works beautifully as a gorgeous shadow. I’m always amazed how effective mineral make up can be and it feels so soft on your skin but this product elevated standards in terms of glamour. It’s truly stunning!

Bareminerals You had me at glow

It’s exclusive to Brown Thomas and they still have stock in store – call them first to avoid disappointment! It can also be purchased online from the UK site.

For someone who needs a little TLC

Recently I tried and loved The Dublin Herbalist Himalayan Scrub (€29.95) and Mango Body Butter (€12.95 – €18.95).

Dublin Herbalists was founded in 2012 by Claire Brett. Indulging a new hobby, Herbalist and Naturopath Claire began developing recipes for a simple moisturiser made from entirely natural ingredients in her home kitchen.

Dublin Herbalists Exfoliating Body Scrub

Her homemade cream proved so popular with family and friends that she launched Dublin Herbalists in 2013.

The range now consists of facial, body and baby products. Key favourites from the range have to be the Himalayan Scrub which is scented with Sweet Orange and Bergamot Essential Oils and leaves your skin so polished.

Dublin Herbalists Mango Body Butter

To finish things off the Mango Body Butter is a perfect blend of Mango Butter and Avocado Oil which smells heavenly and is so deeply moisturising.

It’s also so lovely to see an Irish company truly thriving.

For the Beauty Reader

I have recently succumbed to temptation and bought a kindle. I adore it and had Oh My God What a Complete Aisling downloaded within minutes of turning it on. Whilst for a quick read this is a convenient option, when it comes to beauty or fashion books they need to be hardcover.

Oh My God What a Complete Aisling Cover

One of the most interesting beauty books I’ve ever read is Pretty Iconic by Sali Hughes (€19.64) Any good bookstore should have this, or can easily order it in.

If you’re in anyway interested in beauty marketing, product design, formulation or what makes a product one that goes on to become iconic – think treasured classics such as Chanel No 5, to life-changers such as Babyliss Big Hair, and the more recent releases from Charlotte Tilbury and others that are shaping the beauty industry today, this book charts the journey.

Sali Hughes Pretty Iconic

This is a classic coffee table informative read that delves into the products that are simply the best at what they do, the inventions that changed our perception of beauty and the launches that completely broke the mould. It’s also so well written by the incredible Sali Hughes. This is a book that will be treasured and honestly I couldn’t put it down!

Most importantly amid all the madness, make sure to take some time for yourself!

Wishing you all a wonderful Christmas!
