How do you like your eggs in the morning? Or indeed at any other time of the day?
Well according to a recent survey commissioned by The Happy Egg Co. the way we eat them, soft-boiled eggs in particular, can say a lot about our personalities.
The study looked at the four main ways of eating a soft-boiled ‘dippy’ egg, which Dr Jane Cox, a leading psychologist and human behaviour expert says ca indicate four distinct personality types.
Forget tarot card reading eggs are the way forward it seems…
If you like yours in the traditional way, using an egg cup and for with toasted soldier for dipping, you’re someone who is conventional and stable – like 41% of people surveyed.
On the other hand, if you’re more of a teaspoon over a soldier for scooping then you’re a no frills, no-nonsense type of person, bypassing any unnecessary faff just like a fifth of participants.
You’re likely to be a bit of a maverick and always looking for something enjoyable than most if you turn your egg upside-down before cracking into it in order to get at the wider end.
A quarter of people surveyed like to live life this way.
Finally, do you remove the shell from your egg and spread it on toast instead?
Dr Cox says that you probably have a top-notch sense of humour and are a relatively practical kind of person, like a fifth of participants.
It’s been a while since we’ve had a soft-boiled egg, but after writing this we know what we’ll be having for breakfast.
The only question is, how will we eat it?
