Indulge In a Dublin Horse Show Inspired Menu at Dylan Hotel This Week

The Dublin Horse Show is one of the country’s most highly anticipated events, not only for equestrian followers, but for fashion folk alike. To celebrate this five day event, Dylan Hotel has created a special menu that is inspired by the horse show, a mainstay of social calendars for over 146 years. The Dublin Horse Show menu at Dylan includes delicious cocktails and afternoon delights which can be enjoyed in the newly redesigned and recently relaunched, Dylan Bar, on the new outdoor terrace, The Nurserie – a hidden gem only five minutes from the RDS and the ideal location to relax, unwind and catch the last of the evening’s sunshine, and in the bright, elegant and airy restaurant, The Eddison.

The horse show inspired cocktail menu at Dylan offers a mouth-watering Rosé Cobbler (€11), with Chateau Ballan-Larquette Rosé, from the award winning winemaker, Regis Chaigne, combined with Fino sherry, orange saccharum and orange bitters. Other delicious cocktails to try include a Peach Spritz (€8.50) – Martini Bianco served with peach syrup and soda water – The Puissance (€13), with Hendricks’s Summer Solstice, Velvet Falernum, a squeeze of lemon, honey, egg white, chocolate and cinnamon bitters, or a Strawberries & Cream cocktail (€14) with Beefeater 24 gin, Italicus, Cocchi Americano, strawberry and vanilla syrup, citrus and warm milk.

No horse show experience is complete without a fresh seafood platter, so the culinary team at Dylan has created an inventiveAfternoon Sea menu (€45 per person). Parsley and dill scones are served with crab crème fraiche, sitting alongside cheese and chive scones with smoked salmon mousse, while the seafood platter includes succulent Dublin bay prawns, oysters on the half shell, dressed in a Cabernet Sauvignon vinaigrette, smoked Irish salmon, crab meat and crab claws, all served with traditional brown bread. Nothing says summer more than strawberries and cream, so the perfect end to Afternoon Sea at Dylan is the dessert plate with strawberries and cream served with meringue, jelly, and vanilla ice-cream.
