Viweres were shocked when Sinead Desmond left TV3 after over a decade due to an alleged gender pay gap row in November 2017.
Details emerged that she was on a different, less favourable contract, to her colleagues, including Mark Cagney and Alan Hughes.
Of course, since her shock departure rumours for who would replace her have been rife and while TV3 has yet to officially disclose its plans there are two well-known names in the mix to take over her role.
According to The Irish Mail On Sunday, producers are looking at Dancing With The Stars co-host Amanda Byram for the job.
Amanda is currently living in London with her husband, but rumours are that TV bosses are trying to get her back to Ireland full-time.
The other big name is Yvonne Connolly, who is a regular guest chef on The Six O’Clock Show.
Amanda and Yvonne have been friends for years, harking back to their modelling days, and thus might even be chosen as a presenting duo.
Two weeks ago TV3 boss Bill Malone told press at the launch of the TV3 schedule for 2018 that the team was actively hunting for a new star.
He told The Mirror: “We’re in the middle of that so that is something that we’re looking at.
We’re looking for talent. That could be anyone. Bring on new talent. We’ll see more TV3 talent appearing in different TV3 shows.”
Earlier predictions included Newstalk presenter Sarah McInerney, who also currently hosts The Sunday Show on TV3, and Ciara Doherty who is already part of the line-up. Claire McKenna who features regularly as well.
