Penneys Release Massive Rainbow Collection Dedicated To Pride

The fashion industry has long been a supporter of the LGBT community, just this February former Burberry designer Christopher Bailey dedicated his last show to the LGBT community and stated that the brand would be donating some profits to three LGBTQ+ charities

While his rainbow twist to the British powerhouse’s iconic check might be outside the realms of your budget now Penneys have released a Pride collection to show its support.

Primark has teamed up with British charity Stonewall to bring us a range of more than 20 rainbow-filled designs, including underwear, swimwear, and slogan tees – with everything priced under €8.

Not satisfied with painting your wardrobe in rainbow hues, the affordable retailer is coming for your makeup bag too.

They have released a limited edition make-up set featuring eight bold face paints in shades of red, blue, and yellow.

Giving us a glimpse behind the design processes behind the collection, a video published on Primark’s YouTube channel shows off the entire range.

On the store’s blog Primark buyer Glen Scott explained why the collection is so important:

“From the start, authenticity has been key; we wanted to create a collection that’s true to how people want to dress for Pride, but it also had to be practical and fit for purpose (which is why there are so many great, functional accessories in the range).”

“It’s important to support the more local Prides, to show there are LGBT communities everywhere — not just in the big cities.”

Commenting on Instagram Primark said: Shine bright 🌈✨ Our Pride collection has officially launched in selected stores across the globe!”

They added: “20% from full-priced @stonewalluk marked products will be donated directly to the charity itself, with the proceedings being used to support the LGBT community, globally ♥️ T-Shirt £6/€8/$8 #Primark #Pride”

The decision to donate to charity comes after the retailer faced a serious backlash last after its Pride collection failed to donate any money to LGBT charities.

This year Primark are partnering up with Stonewall and 20 percent of the proceeds from the entire Pride collection will go directly to the organisation.

The collection is now available in select stores.
