A recent article sharing the reality of period cramps made headlines after a doctor likened it to a heart attack.
In the article by Marie Claire, a reproductive health professor at University College London was quoted saying patients have described period cramps as “almost as bad as having a heart attack.”
Many women have taken to Twitter to say this is nothing new, pointing out that we don’t need man to confirm what we’ve known all along…
patients were the ones who likened their menstrual cramps to a heart attack but also shitty that a woman's word isnt truly enough nje nje when describing the kind of pain she is in when experiencing cramps https://t.co/tBTC1xjMuE

When I was in labor with my first child, I didn't know I was in labor because the pain wasn't as bad as my monthly cramps!!

If men had periods, 'menstrual leave' would probably be a thing.

We believe strongly that conversations like this should be encouraged and women’s issues should never been treated as taboo.
It’s time the government starting taking the argument for Menstrual Leave seriously, the reality of period pain is not going away. Period.
