PhiBrows: Learn All You Need to Know About Getting Your Eyebrows Microbladed

Beautifully arched, full brows have become a must-have feature in any polished make-up look. Emphasising your eyes and adding structure to the face, it’s hard to imagine a time, that wasn’t all too long ago, when thin, wispy brows were what all we sought after.

The popularity of bushy, yet groomed, brows has been brought about by the likes of model Cara Delevingne and actress Lily Collins, and since 2011, the industry for brow products has tripled in size, now worth more than £20m.

But achieving the perfect shape and definition is far from easy, and despite the fact that the average woman spends over €225 per year on filling, shaping and styling, sometimes a little extra professional help is necessary.

Prior to the event, we picked Joanne’s expert brain on all things PhiBrows…

What is PhiBrows?

PhiBrows is a manual skill of semi-permanent eyebrow drawing.

How does it work?

First, the shape of the eyebrows is calculated according to the golden intersection (phi 1.618) and face morphology.

The pigment is applied into the surface layer of the dermis using sterilized tools and pigment is chosen to match the natural hair or eyebrow colour. After healing, the colour may become several hues lighter that the natural hairs’ colour.

Strokes are always drawn in the direction of natural hairs’ growth to achieve hyper-realistic look.

Symmetry is achieved through PhiBrows application and it is calculated while the clients’ eyes are closed because in that way mimetic muscles that can affect eyebrows’ symmetry are relaxed.

Strokes are always drawn in the direction of natural hairs’ growth to achieve hyper-realistic look.

Can anyone have this treatment?

When a client has very few natural hairs, manual technique is combined with the machine in order to get shadows that improve the volume. The combination of both techniques is called PhiFusion.

How long does it last?

Correction is done a month after the treatment, because between 10 and 15% of drawn strokes disappear after the first treatment.

On average, expected time until a new colour refreshment is between 10 and 12 months. With oily skin it is up to 6 months.

Is it safe?

Treatment is performed with disposable sterile tools (PhiBrush), and pigments are produced in accordance with the highest standards (PhiBrows microblading pigments).
