Rumours were swirling last month that Prince Harry and Meghan would set down in Ireland on their honeymoon, and now the gossip has all but been confirmed.
If several social media sources are to be believed the newly weds have landed on our shores and are honeymooning in the five star Ashford Castle in Co. Mayo.
It’s said the the entire area is on lock down with roads leading to the estate closed off and security at an all time high.
Speculation about where the couple would spend their honeymoon has been rife since the pair tied the knot last month, with destinations in Africa and Canada widely tipped.
But against all odds it seems that Ireland is the country of choice for the royal duo – perhaps after hearing rave reviews from The Queen after she made a historic trip in 2011.
Dating back some 800 years, the five-star Ashford Castle was once owned by medieval lords before it eventually ended up in the hands of Ireland’s prominent Guinness family.
The luxury hotel is used to high-profile guests and was the venue of choice for Rory McIlroy and Erica Stoll wedding last year.
In more royal rumours, Ireland is said to welcome Charles and Camilla in the coming months too. Kate and Wills are next.

Harry and Meghan are rumoured to be at Ashford Castle in Mayo, Ireland! I have family living near the castle and they’ve told me that security is tight with the castle and grounds closed to all, which is unusual.
