We know summer is only getting started but we can’t help but look forward to next season’s style, especially when River Island just unveiled their fierce new collection for Autumn Winter 2018.

River Island AW18 really does have something for everyone, with touches of glam rock, vintage chic and street cool there are pieces fit for any occasion, sophisticated or low-key, day or night.

Think colour, prints, texture and, of course, plenty of RI’s signature embellishment all coming together to help you create a truly autumnal worthy wardrobe.

We had a sneak peek of the collection at the River Island AW18 Press Preview at their Dublin HQ, read on for the five trends to look forward to.

River Island

You can’t help but get a strong 80’s feel. Intense oranges and bright blues pieces styled with a powerful mix of sultry animal and chain prints. There’s lots of faux fur, studs and patent are at the forefront, tipped with ruffles, frills and bows. Don’t forget to add oversized baker boy hats, supersized disc earrings and dazzling leather gloves to complete the look.

Looking back in time once again, the second trend Heritage revamps checked suit dressing with added pops of colour, patent textures in utility brown and transparent plastics. Modern maxi skirts and leather trousers have been given a vintage spin with classic paper-bag waistlines and vintage checks.

There’s a vintage feel to Bijou trend also, with sumptuous velvets, deep magenta bow-knotted headscarves, super soft faux fur and Victoriana style shirts all creating a raw modern take on antique patterns.

For more casual wear Street Chic will update and upgrade your sportswear, denim and statement knits wardrobe with cerise pink and flamingo red as well as plenty of studs and geometrics.

When it comes to accessories, River Island, as always, the more ostentatious the better.

There are baroque chain belts paired with fierce leopard print mules whilst boots take centre stage from glamourous thigh highs to relaxed and slouchy.
