A host of well-known faces from the world of fashion, beauty and broadcasting, along with breast cancer survivors and supporters, gathered in Marco Pierre White Courtyard Bar & Grill in Donnybrook on Friday, 6th December for the annual Christmas fundraiser to raise funds to support Breast Cancer Ireland’s (BCI) research and awareness programmes nationally.

The event, hosted by Virgin Media broadcaster and Breast Cancer Ireland Ambassador, Elaine Crowley, included a fashion show, styled by Cathy O’Connor, who along with models, including Lynn Kelly, Pat Walker, January Winters and Ann Marie Gannon gave of their services free of charge. They were joined by recent Miss Ireland contestants Megan Hurley, Laura Doyle and Bronwyn O’Connell to showcase a sartorial selection of gorgeous garments from leading boutiques around Ireland.

Associate professor in the Department of Surgery at RCSI Professor Young updated those in attendance on the work being funded by BCI going on in the labs particularly in the area of recurrence. Survivor and “Thriver”, Ann Eble also spoke with passion and energy of being diagnosed twice with cancer in the last twenty years and shared her message of positivity and resilience.
