The fourth annual Spanish Wine Week with Wines from Spain runs from April 8th to April 14th, celebrating the fascinating regions & grapes of Spanish viniculture. Following on from the huge success of the last three years, Wines from Spain has organised the fourth Spanish Wine Week in Ireland, running in various locations throughout the country!
Spanish Wine Week is perfectly designed for both food and wine lovers, giving guests plenty of opportunity to feel the passion and learn more about Spanish wines in a series of interesting events – tastings, talks, special restaurant and wine shop offers and competitions – all organised by Wines from Spain.
The week includes a range of events throughout Dublin from wine tastings to dinners. Pickle restaurant hosts a dinner on April 9th with wine and drinks editor Aoife Carrigy pairing delicious North Indian food with wines from Northern Spain, and Urchin at Cliff Townhouse has a Cava tasting with Irish Independent wine writer Corinna Hardgrave on April 11th, while sherry expert Paddy Murphy and Rafa Salazar from Vinostito host a sherry and wine lunch paired with exceptional Irish seafood on April 14th in Fish Shop Queen Street.
WILDE at The Westbury has a fascinating five-course winemakers’ dinner exclusively focused on female Spanish winemakers on April 10th, hosted by our recent ‘Women We Love’ Master of Wine Lynne Coyle, Director of O’Briens Wines who, along with Alicia Eyaralar of Bodega Tandem will be exploring five wines made by women – three from Bodega Tandem in Navarra and two by Cristina Bernedo from Conde de Valdemar in Rioja. Also at The Westbury, in Balfes on April 8th, special guest Gregory Buda, Director of Education at New York’s award-winning Dead Rabbit, hosts a Sherry Masterclass, guiding guests through a journey exploring sherry and its versatility in cocktails, with four sherries, cocktails and matching tapas.
Wines from Spain has created a fascinating programme to educate, inspire and help make people passionate about the impressive variety and diversity of Spanish winemaking regions, grapes, flavours and style. ¡Salud! – sláinte!
