Going to Body&Soul? The Sparkling Reasons Why You Need to Visit The Veuve Clicquot Garden

The beautifully bizarre Body&Soul midsummer festival returns to the stunning grounds of Ballinlough Castle, Co. Westmeath this June 22nd-24th, and once again this year Veuve Clicquot is bringing some sparkle and glamour to the weekend.

From their dedicated corner of the venue, the leading Champagne brand will be bring us a stunning line-up of speakers, a myriad of musical talents and tantalizing tastes.

The stunning Veuve Clicquot Garden will be host to champagne pairings and chilled out beats while the Sparkling Conversations Salon provides thought provoking talks and tasteful treats.

This year, Veuve Clicquot celebrates the 200th Anniversary of Rosé Champagne which was blended for the first time by the audacious and intelligent Madame Clicquot, also known as the ‘Grand Dame of Champagne’.

It’s her story and daring spirit that brings inspiration to the themes, talks and theatrics in the Veuve Clicquot Garden throughout the weekend.

The Veuve Clicquot Sparkling Conversations Salon line up will highlight incredible producers, creators and innovators in the food industry.

You can expect a ‘How to make Ramen’ workshop from Brianna Turner from the award winning Pot Duggans and chef Kevin Thornton will demonstrate dishes to make from bog butter in ‘Lost Ingredients & Ancient Preserving Techniques’.

Kevin O’ Toole from Chameleon Restaurant and Shamzuri Hanifa of the acclaimed The Cottage Restaurant will be dissecting the interesting topic of ‘Insect Protein – The Next Sustainable, Ecological, Viable Food Source’.

Veuve Clicquot will illustrate the beauty of champagne and food pairing with suggested tasting treats throughout the weekend.

Ireland’s recently acclaimed top sommelier Julie Dupouy will talk about the craft of pairing fine champagne with food with Veuve Clicquot Yellow Label and Rosé and Susan Boyle will explore how luxurious chocolate can make the perfect summer pairing with our favourite champagne.

To celebrate Madame Clicquot as the female trailblazer of her time a series of panels have been added to the Sparkling Conversations Salon with an all-female line up, hosted by 2FM broadcaster, author and podcast presenter Louise McSharry.

The soundscape for the weekend comes in the form of a prominent line-up of female DJs including festival regular DJ Kelly-Anne Byrne; DJ Sally Cinnamon; DJ Tara Stewart and more.

And for those wondering if they will get a chance to don their mysterious masks and twist and twirl in their favourite costumes at the spectacular Veuve Clicquot Masquerade Ball on Saturday night… watch this space!
