Yoga and Pilates Experts Set for Mount Congreve Wellness ‘Restival’

Mount Congreve Gardens ‘Restival’ goers’ are in for a treat on Sunday, June 30th as a day filled with health and wellbeing events is on offer across the 70-acre gardens.

Experts in Yoga, Pilates classes Meditation along with guided forest bathing walks, a schedule of 7 different health and wellness talks, taster sessions in reflexology, deep meditation, nutrition and acupuncture are all included in the €30.00 ‘Restival’ ticket price. A pop-up food market will be in situ for refuelling and refreshment.

The day commences with the event registration desk opening at 10.15am and the registration desk will remain open thoughout the day; the first classes commence at 11 am with a series of yoga classes available on the hour from 11 am, with instructors, Rachel O’Keeffe, Karen Dunphy, Hilary Harvey, Gemma Murphy, Emma Rose, Eamonn Rockett and Bridget Tubritt all from My Yoga. The team at My Yoga Waterford are experts in all forms of Yoga and say that classes will be available on the day for all ranges and capabilities to include, hatha alignment based classes, vinyasa flow classes and classes that will have a hint of yin and restorative poses in them also.

Pilates classes will be led by Pilates teacher Mags Murphy and will be available on the half hour from 11.30am to 4.30pm. Mags Murphy has been teaching Pilates for the past 5 years. It is one of her passions and she loves to spread the word about how life-changing it can be. Mag’s says “Pilates for me is very much about the mind and body connection. Focusing on every single move, building both strength, and flexibility at the same time. It’s about longevity and looking after our bodies, helping to prevent the ageing process. The beauty of Pilates is it’s for all ages and all levels, both male and female. Anyone can do it.”

Guided Meditation will begin at 12 noon on Monty’s Lawn and will be led by Stephen Rockett , Hilary Harvey, Eamonn Rockett & Rachel O’Keeffe Classes will take place at 12:00, 1.30om, 3.30 and 4.30pm.

‘Restival’goers will get to enjoy the health benefits of spending time in nature by enjoying the 16 km of walking trails or relaxing on the lawns or taking one of the events, guided ‘Forest Bathing’ walks, which also commence at 11.30am These will be led through the majestic woodland canopy through the beautiful gardens and walkers will enjoy a chance to relax, and enjoy the scents and sounds of nature all around them. The walks will be on offer again at 1 pm and 3 pm.

The health and wellness talks commence at 11 am inside the beautiful Mount Congreve House, the first talk will focus on ‘Nature as Medicine’ and will be hosted by Dr Mark Rowe, at 11.30 am nutritionist Jemma Kehoe will offer a discussion on nutrition at 12 noon Greg Staff will discuss gut bacteria, Michael Connelly will offer a talk on Neuro-linguistic Programming at 1 pm, Mia Huntington will offer tips on stress relief strategies at 2 pm, at 3 pm Gemma Hughes will discuss the health benefits of kitchen herbs and the final talk of the day at 4 pm will be on reducing pain and restoring movement and this will be hosted by David Grey.

Also on offer to ‘Restival-goers’ on the day will be taster sessions in acupuncture, deep meditation, nutrition and reflexology; plus a chance to browse the delicious pop-up local food producers market on-site.
